Wallpaper Installation Guide
Read the instructions supplied with your chosen material before starting. Application methods differ, so this preparation checklist is not a replacement for those instructions.
Before you begin
- Check the design, material, dimensions and panel sequence before applying adhesive or cutting.
- Lay the panels out in order and inspect the print in good light.
- If anything looks wrong, stop and contact us with photographs before installation.
Prepare the wall
The wall must be clean, dry, smooth and structurally sound. Remove loose finishes and repair cracks or holes. Allow new paint or plaster to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Check the wallpaper’s surface requirements, particularly for self-adhesive materials.
Use the right application method
Pre-pasted, non-woven and peel-and-stick materials require different preparation. Follow the provided instructions for adhesive activation, paste selection, panel alignment and trimming. Use a vertical guide line to keep the first panel straight.
Inspect as you work
Keep panels in their marked order and check alignment as each panel is hung. Stop if a printing or material issue becomes apparent. Inspect your delivery before booking an installer; the returns policy explains the treatment of uninstalled products.
